Featured Seller: Custom Vintage Replicas
There’s a fantastic seller on etsy, who makes vintage-themed dresses and replicas like the one below, which was featured on Peggy Olsen in a series of season five promo shots. The seller will custom make the dress below (and a number of other designs) in your measurements in a variety of colors for $195. Click on the images below to see the seller’s listing. You can also visit their etsy storefront here to see all of their designs.
Featured Seller: Vintage Eyewear
Warby Parker has done a lot for people that are both visually impaired and into vintage style. And their flat fee pricing (only $95 a pair) is quite revolutionary in the vision correction biz. However, if you prefer authentic vintage frames as opposed to vintage-inspired frames, you can spend hours combing through junk on eBay and etsy or you can visit one of our favorite sources for optical quality vintage frames, Thayer Eyewear.
Thayer specializes in carefully curated 1950s cat eye glasses, 1960s squared zyl, rhinestone and embellished frames, high quality American and European frames from the 1800s to the 1990s, as well as dead stock ready-to-wear sunglasses. While some of Thayer’s stock is used, they also carry tons of dead stock/never worn frames, many of which are priced under $100.
Below are some of our favorite vintage frames as seen on Thayer Eyewear’s etsy storefront this week. Click on each image below to see the individual listing.

Vintage 1950s rare and unique hand made cat eye frames with boomerang brass studs from THAYEReyewear on etsy. $214.50.
Pillow Talk
This week we found a wonderful seller on etsy, Lil & Gaines, who makes the most beautiful pillow covers. The pillow cover below, fashioned from a Robert Allen Khanjali designed ikat fabric, is currently gracing my new sectional and I’m so pleased with the quality that I plan to order another. Click on the image below to visit the seller’s etsy storefront.
Featured Seller: Bayan Hippo
Bayan Hippo has developed a solid reputation as a purveyor of affordable, handmade fabric handbags and totes. I have purchased two bags from this seller in the past and will likely get another one soon. With the spring and summer months ahead, I’m leaning toward the “Sailor Tote Bag” below. Reviewers rave about how well-made these bags are and apparently the rope straps are super soft too. Now I just need to settle on a color.
Most of Bayan Hippo’s bags can be custom made-to-order in different sizes, colors, longer or shorter straps, etc. Click on the images below to visit Bayan Hippo’s etsy storefront.

Featured Seller: Nicholettes
I apologize for my lengthy fashion blogging absence, but things got kind of heavy. My beloved brother Sean passed away suddenly at age 38, which is far too soon for anyone to leave, especially someone as amazing as him. When I left for D.C., and we still had hope that he would recover, I packed just enough to get me through a few days. Those days stretched into two weeks and I eventually found myself shopping for a dress to wear to his funeral.
And a vintage hat of course.
I want to express enormous gratitude to Nicholette Alexander, a wonderful seller on etsy who expedited the veiled hat below to me in D.C. so that I could have it in time for Sean’s funeral.
That said, “Nicholettes” (as she is known on etsy) is my featured seller this week. Similar to the one I purchased from her, Nicholettes has a number of stunning vintage hats (among other great vintage finds) available in her etsy shop right now, many of which come with free hat boxes! Featured Seller: Celapiu
Sometimes I come across a shop on etsy and find myself favoriting nearly everything in the store. Celapiu is one of those sellers.
Celapiu [tse-lah-pyoo] is an independent Polish label specializing in cold weather accessories: scarves, gloves and various head coverings. The label was founded in 2005 by designer Celina Dębowska.
My favorite items are her felted fox scarves (no foxes were harmed in the making of these accessories). “Felt Fokses” can be made to order in many different shades, just contact the shop with your specifics. They are simply adorable. Click on each image below to see the full listing.
