Three Plus One

leave a comment »

It can be challenging to find great vintage pieces to fit every shape, which makes the three dresses below even more special. The first one is a 1970s-era silk brocade frock from Geoffrey Beene‘s Boutique label so you know it’s expertly crafted. The shirtwaist bodice and a-line skirt would be flattering on just about any body shape and the extra-long ascot can be tied in numerous ways. And check out those amazing rhinestone studded buttons! Such great details here, which is to be expected from this vintage boutique label (41″ bust, 34″ waist).

And below the Geoffrey Beene is a vintage 1960s butterscotch and black plaid jersey dress with neck tie (42″ bust, 36″ waist, 41″ hips).

Finally, we have an adorable powder blue mod day dress with a square neckline and decorative buttons (38″ bust, 34″ waist, 40″ hips).

For the uninitiated, André Courrèges is the self-proclaimed inventor of the mini-skirt who launched his ultra-modern ‘Space Age’ collection in 1964 and went on to become one of the most copied fashion designers of all time.
